Stress comes barging in.
He’s trying to
Steal my peace
Crush my joy
Suffocate my thoughts
across the sky
Cloaked in loneliness –
lost in the cave of despair –
friendless and forlorn.
As I’ve journeyed on this path through life,
I’ve trod on stones, moss and sand.
They’ve each presented challenges and strife;
refining me into who I am.
Feeling all alone,
full of sadness and despair,
hope seems far away.
Children, family, life –
biting off pieces of me;
wild eyes seeking space.
Wildly seeking space;
It reaches its tentacles
out of the
deep dark pit
She sat by the window lonely, dejected,
immobilized by her bolder-like burden,
she had given up on life.
He came to her, eyes full of compassion,
affirming words fell like a spring rain,
seeping into her parched soul.
