Future

Kate’s Five Minute Friday prompt, future, was timely.  My oldest son graduates from high school in a few days and I’m excited to see what the future holds for him.

  1. Sue, this was a wonderful post! I’m your FMF neighbor! My kiddos are headed into 5th and 7th grades. I can’t even begin to think about HS graduation yet! It kinda sends me into an anxiety attack! Prayers for you and your son and his future.

    • Thank you, Michelle. I can’t believe that my oldest is graduating. I’m not sure that I’m ready to be at this stage. It seems like yesterday he was a newborn! LOL The teen years are a lot of fun. I know that people say that they are very difficult years, but I have enjoyed watching my teens grow, mature, and find their giftings. I can’t wait to see how what God has planned for their lives. Do they always make the decisions that I want them to make? No. Do they make mistakes? Yes. But you know that’s how they learn. It’s difficult to gradually pull back and let them step out but it’s needed so they can stretch their wings. Anyway, this is getting too long so I’ll close. I just wanted to encourage you that each year is fun and challenging. Mothering is worth it all. Enjoy them. You know how people say you blink and they are grown? Well, it is true! But the journey is fun and well worth it! 🙂

  2. When you children were little, I said “This is the best time of my life.” When you went to school, I said, “This is the best time of my life.” When you were teenagers, I said, “This is the best time of my life.” When you were young adults, I said, “This is the best time of my life.” Now that I am a grandmother to 11, ages, 7 months, to 18, THIS IS THE BEST TIME OF MY LIFE. Yes, there were hardships and difficulties but God’s grace has been sufficient in all these times.
