ancient steadfast pine
buffeted by life’s harsh storms
deep roots — many scars
*************
A question to ponder:
How do I handle the storms of life? Do I stand strong and firm or do I allow the harsh winds to bend and break me?

The pines of Dolly Sods, WV are buffeted by the cold winds of life, and only have branches on the one side. We may get a bit disfigured by life, and have some wrinkles and a few extras that we once did not have, but we can bear them with grace as a majestic pine. I heard one person refer to them as battle scars. We may have them on the outside, but they don’t have to affect our inside beauty, grace and compassion.
