Victorious Survivor

I wrote the a few years ago for a friend of mine who is a strong Victorious Survivor. I was reminded of it today and thought that it was time to reblog it.

Sue's Nook

Sitting in darkness
alone
battered
beaten
bruised
rejected
by the one
who vowed to
love
cherish
honor
and
protect her.

    • There was. πŸ™‚ But many women (and men) don’t find the strength to protect themselves and leave their abusers. My heart breaks for them. I long for the day when our world will be free of evil, sin, corruption, pain, hurt, fear, and brokenness. That time is coming! πŸ™‚

      • I think the reason so many don’t leave is because in their hearts they cannot come to see the abuse, the addiction, the problem (or whatever else we call it) as anything other than justified. There is a bit of self hatred in every enabler (I speak from experience). It was hard to face the fact that I was a part of the problem, the addiction, the abuse and that the love of my life would never even have the opportunity to change as long as I held on.
