Brave (Kyrielle)

Lord, everything seems very wrong.
I feel so weak—wish I were strong.
To fear, I seem to be a slave.
Today I don’t feel very brave.

My freedom seems quite far away.
This monstrous fear I want to slay.
Please, Lord, will you this panic stave?
Today I don’t feel very brave.

Strong and mighty I’ll one day be
And from these chains I will break free!
Though victory’s flag I shall soon wave,
Today I don’t feel very brave.

After writing the Kyrielle, two of Moriah Peters’ songs, “Oh Fear” and “Brave,” came to mind.  Here is “Oh Fear”  may it bless you as much as it blesses me.  🙂

  1. Good poem about honest feelings most of us have from time to time. As the song “Oh Fear, My God is Near” says, we have a deliverer and need not live in fear. We can spread our wings and fly like your little birds did this morning. God will lift us up and bear us up. Jesus is our Savior and Deliverer.
