The Least of These

Feet
      swollen, cracked, sore, calloused, bleeding
Legs
      shaking, weak, cramped, tired
Stomach
      gnawing, hollow, intense aching
throat
      scratchy, dry, sore
lips
      parched, cracked, dry
heart
      bruised, breaking, bleeding
arms
      beseeching, pleading, reaching –

         reaching out –

           for help
            for freedom
              for safety

Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.”

Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.
James 2:15-18

‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25:40

One way we can help the people displaced by the Syria and Iraq Crisis is through donating to a reputable organization. MCC is one that I’m most familiar with though others are out there.
