Hope is Near

Feeling all alone,
full of sadness and despair,
hope seems far away.

Hopeless in despair,
ignoring the Comforter,
she shuts her heart’s door.

Comforter is near,
his arms outstretched, calling her,
words bounce off locked heart.

Heart locked in despair,
she doesn’t know hope is near;
she can’t hear His voice.

The arms of a friend
support her and lift her up
turning her towards hope.

She sees Comforter,
running to His outstretched arms,
peace envelopes her.

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” Corinthians 3:17

Inspired by Haiku Horizon’s prompt “near.”
