Weeds of Bitterness

Weeds of bitterness
wrapped themselves around my soul;
snuffing out all joy.

All of my joy gone –
my soul wrapped in bitterness,
searching for freedom.

I’m seeking freedom,
tired of feeling bitter,
a still small voice calls.

Quiet voices calling,
offering freedom and peace;
I accept the gifts.

Accepting the gifts,
I run into my Lord’s arms,
finding peace and joy.

“Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.  Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”  Ephesians 4:31-32
