Victorious Survivor

Sitting in darkness
alone
battered
beaten
bruised
rejected
by the one
who vowed to
love
cherish
honor
and
protect her.

She’s grieving;
alone in
her pain
sorrows
fears
anger
brokenness

She feels
weak
useless
exhausted
lifeless
stupid
ALONE…

She’s told she’s
stupid
unlovable
used goods
ruined her children
ruined her life
unwanted by any man.

She’s told lies…
by those who
should stand by her
love, cherish, protect,
and help her.
LIES
intended to
keep her
trampled down
by
the
Enemy.

She flees from
her hurt
her pain
her torturer
her abusers
her lying
and traitorous friends.

She flees to
safety
protection
freedom
healing
growth
and new life.

The lies keep dripping,
rotten words seeping,
from the mouths of
gossips who are
willing to be
tools of the Enemy
who’s trying to destroy her.

BUT

Sitting in the light
surrounded by her grateful children
strong
wise
powerful
a princess
daughter
of the
King of kings
loved and
admired by
her children and true friends;
she’s a victorious survivor!

This poem was written with some strong, powerful, courageous women in mind.
Women who should be admired and honored.
Women who often are totally misunderstood.
Women who were able to escape and build new lives because they realized their worth.
Women who are loved, cherished, and protected by their Creator.

If you find yourself in this situation…get help and get out.  You can call the National Domestic Violence Hotline anytime: 1-800-799-7233  You do not deserve to be treated this way.  You are worth fighting and escaping for.  By doing so you show yourself, your children, and the world that humans should never, ever put up with abusive treatment.  I love you and I care.

Your Creator loves you and He cares more than you can ever imagine. ❤

I wrote the a few years ago for a friend of mine who is a strong Victorious Survivor. I was reminded of it today and thought that it was time to reblog it.
