The Snake

He is small and innocent looking,
Quietly slithering from one person to another,
Growing larger and believed more
After each retelling.

Sneaking, cunning, malicious
He doesn’t respect truth, integrity, or justice.
Snake-like he slithers from person to person
Leaving the broken hearts and lives of his helpless victims behind.

He’s secretive and elusive;
Hard to track down and capture.
He has destroyed the reputations
Of kings and peasants alike.

He’s killed marriages, friendships, trust, and careers.
Where ever he strikes,
Lives are ruined, hearts are broken
Friendships are torn apart, and tears are shed.

Whenever he strikes,
Innocent people are harmed
His name hisses like the sneaky snake he is.
He is Gossip.
